<p>Lamborghini is redefining the future of the super sports car with a unique technology demonstrator. Boasting an extremely lightweight construction thanks to advanced carbon-fiber technology, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento has an overall curb weight of just 999 kilograms (2,202 lb) – including V10 power unit and permanent all-wheel drive. This makes the Sesto Elemento a unique demonstration of the technological expertise of Automobili Lamborghini. Innovative carbon-fiber technologies are being used here for the first time in an automotive application. As a 100 percent subsidiary of AUDI AG, the Italian carmaker also benefits from the undisputed expertise of the German manufacturer when it comes to lightweight construction.</p>
<p>With its amazing output of 570 hp, sensational power-to-weight ratio of only 1.75 kilograms per hp and 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of only 2.5 seconds, the Sesto Elemento guarantees unparalleled driving fun. At the same time, fuel consumption also drops because of the extreme lightweight engineering applied throughout.</p>
<p>The name of this technology demonstrator is derived from the periodic table, where carbon is classified as the sixth element. Thus, the Sesto Elemento demonstrates the worldwide leading expertise of Lamborghini in carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) technology. The super sports car brand from Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese is the only vehicle manufacturer in the world to have mastered the complete CFRP process across a range of technologies, from 3D design through simulation, validation, production and testing – all in a state-of-the-art industrial process that stands for the very highest quality standards.</p>
<p>Lamborghini drives the technology development in its two research centers the ACRC (Advanced Composite Research Center) and the ACSL (Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory) through collaborations with organizations such as Boeing, with the resulting technology secured under a host of patents.</p>

<p><strong>Groundbreaking technology package</strong><br />
With the Sesto Elemento, Lamborghini&#8217;s R&amp;D engineers have put together a groundbreaking package. As a pure and radical concept, the Sesto Elemento is the unique synthesis of an extremely low curb weight of less than 1000 kilograms, enormous 570 hp output, the sensitive and prompt responsiveness of the high-revving, naturally-aspirated V10 engine and the superior traction and stability of permanent all-wheel drive – there has never been a super sports car as thoroughbred as this. Sesto Elemento delivers an unbelievable degree of driving fun, concentrated on absolutely sensational dynamics.</p>
<p><strong>Systematic use of carbon fiber</strong><br />
The basis is an extremely solid, stiff, safe and lightweight carbon-fiber structur: the monocoque cell of the Sesto Elemento. The entire front frame, the exterior panels and crash boxes are also made from CFRP. The Sesto Elemento&#8217;s major suspension components and the rims are made from carbon fiber. The tailpipes are made from Pyrosic, which is an advanced glass-ceramic matrix composite, able to reach and stand very high temperatures up to 900° celsius. Even the propeller shaft is made of CFRP.</p>
<p><strong>Amazing power-to-weight ratio</strong><br />
The Sesto Elemento demonstrates the outstanding expertise of Automobili Lamborghini in all areas of carbon-fiber technology. Carbon composite materials are a key technology for the automotive engineering of tomorrow, especially for high-performance sports cars. These materials made from carbon-fiber reinforced plastics combine the lowest weight with excellent characteristics – they are extremely stiff and highly precise. Lighter cars improve fuel consumption and CO2 emissions: above all, however, it improves the power-to-weight ratio – the crucial factor for a sports car – and thus the performance. A super sports car built using CFRP accelerates faster, has outstanding handling and better braking.</p>
<p><strong>Extreme lightweight engineering delivers extreme performance</strong><br />
The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento offers the ultimate proof; thanks to its sensational power-to-weight ratio of only 1.75 kilograms per hp, the concept car delivers unparalleled performance. From a standing start, the Sesto Elemento catapults itself to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a sensational 2.5 seconds. In the interests of completeness, it should also be mentioned that the top speed is well over 300 km/h. What the figures cannot convey, however, are the Sesto Elemento&#8217;s razor-sharp handling, its voracious turn-in and its huge braking power. <p><strong>Design:<br />
Technology in a progressive form</strong></p>
<p>Uncompromising dynamics from the very first glance: the design of the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento displays the sensuality of high performance and possesses the elegance of pure, unadulterated power. The Sesto Elemento lifts the design DNA of the Lamborghini brand to a new level and integrates the functional consistency of carbon-fiber technology into its design language. A clear strength of the CFRP technology is the reduction and integration of components – something that has been used to its full extent in this innovative technology concept.</p>
<p>The hi-tech material is visible everywhere. The Sesto Elemento is finished in a new, matt-shimmer clear coat, meaning that the CFRP structure can be seen throughout. Yet the Sesto Elemento is not just black; during the final stage of production the carbon fiber parts receive a newly developed and patented coat. Nano-Technology makes it possible to add fine crystals with a red shimmer. Surfaces covered with this type of finish glow red and deliver an outstanding effect. Further, the surface is particularly robust.</p>
<p><strong>Consistent in form and function</strong><br />
On a Lamborghini, every single line has a clear function; the two vertical ribs at the front, for example, improve the stiffness of the component and guide the cooling air directly to the radiator behind them and to the brakes. This guarantees the thermal wellbeing of the components even under the toughest race track conditions.</p>
<p>The cooling air flows through two red triangular openings in the hood beneath the front windscreen and through large outlets in the side panels behind the front wheels. Sharply cut headlamp units complete the front end. Reduction is the name of the game here, too – alongside the bi-xenon lamps, there are four LEDs in each unit. The low front end looks incredibly dominant, with the partially double-lipped front spoiler pushed way out front and distinctively formed air intakes.</p>
<p><strong>Precise lines, sharp edges</strong><br />
The entire side profile is cut like a sharp wedge, with the power center of the car unmistakably just in front of the rear axle. A distinctive sideline starts at the front wheel arch, rises along the door towards the rear and ends at the broad shoulders above the rear wheel. The triangle – like the one around the door handle &#8211; is a recurring design theme, defined by the precise contour edges in the Sesto Elemento&#8217;s CFRP body. The points of the air outlet triangles in the hood are carried through into lines along the roof.</p>
<p>The extremely wide sills form a connection between the air outlets behind the front wheels and the large air inlets in front of the rear wheels. These compartments house components such as the radiators for cooling the engine and transmission oil. The rims have a five-spoke design and are made entirely from carbon fiber. They offer a clear view of the high-performance brakes with carbon-ceramic discs.</p>
<p><strong>Perfect aerodynamics</strong><br />
The Sesto Elemento&#8217;s rear overhang is extremely short and, again, defined by optimum aerodynamics. The generously dimensioned spoiler is perfectly matched to the diffuser and a further air deflector in the center, thus guaranteeing maximum downforce for extreme cornering speeds and excellent high-speed directional stability. The Pyrosic tailpipes are directed upwards through the engine cover panel, which also incorporates ten hexagonal openings and two air scoops behind the roof for delivering fresh air to the V10 power plant.</p>
<p><strong>Complex structures in one component</strong><br />
A major strength of carbon-fiber technology is that complex structures can be integrated into one single component. This improves quality and reduces weight. On the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, the front and rear of the body-shell are each manufactured in a single piece. Engineers call this &#8220;cofango&#8221;, created by combining the Italian word &#8220;cofano&#8221; (hood) with &#8220;parafango&#8221; (fender). The large components are attached by using easily removable fasteners, in order to have fast component disassembly. The &#8220;cofango&#8221; is also reminiscent of an icon from the brand&#8217;s history: in 1966, the legendary Lamborghini Miura was unique as a mid-engine super sports car – and its rear cover, too, could be opened in one piece.</p>
<p><strong>Interior – pared to the bone</strong><br />
The minimalist approach has also been applied to the interior, starting with the seats. Lamborghini has dispensed completely with the conventional seat frame. In fact, the whole internal structure is obtained and defined directly from the Forged Composite tub, that on one side plays a functional role and on the other side is the base for the optimally formed seat cushions, upholstered in hi-tech fabric, which are affixed directly to the carbon-fiber monocoque. The correct ergonomics are provided by the steering wheel, which can be adjusted for height and reach, and by the pedals, which can be electrically adjusted longitudinally. Of course, the designers of Lamborghini Centro Stile also dispensed with interior trim in the classic sense. The dominant visual feature throughout is the functional CFRP material – on the floor and roof of the monocoque, on the doors and also on the cockpit and center console. Even the electronic control unit for the engine is mounted in plain sight – a very special kind of hi-tech aesthetic. The triangular cut-out is also evident as a design feature – wherever material can be removed in the interest of weight reduction.</p>
<p>The controls are presented in a highly concentrated format. The instruments provide information primarily on engine and road speed, as well as all parameters relating to engine condition. Only three piezoelectric buttons grace the center console – one to start the engine, one to shift into reverse gear and another one for the lights.</p>
<p><strong>Technology:<br />
Ambitious target reached with ease</strong></p>
<p>The Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese engineers had set themselves a target that was more than ambitious – despite the ten cylinders and 570 hp, despite the exceptionally fast-shifting e.gear transmission and even despite the permanent all-wheel drive, the Sesto Elemento still had to stay below the 1,000 kilogram mark. And that target was achieved; at a curb weight of 999 kilograms, each hp produced by the V10 power unit has to accelerate only 1.75 kilograms – a sensational figure.</p>
<p>This was made possible by the systematic and intelligent use of state-of-the-art carbon-fiber technologies. Lamborghini possesses extensive experience in the field of lightweight engineering, gathered over many years: something clearly demonstrated by the brand&#8217;s series production vehicles. The current Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera has a dry weight of only 1,340 kilograms, marking a competitive best in this category of super sports cars. Compared with the already extremely lean Gallardo LP 560-4 Coupé, this represents a further reduction of 70 kilograms, resulting largely from the use of carbon fiber in the body-shell, interior and technical components.</p>
<p>Lamborghini engineers stuck firmly to this approach for the Sesto Elemento. Its structure consists almost entirely of carbon fiber and is built using the monocoque principle. Monocoque means that the vehicle&#8217;s load-bearing structure is manufactured as a single shell, with the physical properties of one component, and thus makes optimum use of the extreme stiffness offered by CFRP materials. Formula 1 racing cars have been built using CFRP monocoques for decades – and regularly provide clear evidence of their collision safety. The monocoque in the Sesto Elemento, however, is made using innovative Forged Composite technology – the first time this has been done in an automobile. The advantage of the Forged Composite is that the monocoque is obtained through a one-shot process.</p>
<p><strong>Carbon-fiber crash boxes</strong><br />
In the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, the monocoque forms the complete passenger cell. Connected to it are the front subframe &#8211; incorporating the suspension points &#8211; and the crash boxes, both also made using specialized carbon-fiber technologies. The extreme stiffness of this assembly guarantees not only a very high level of safety, but also unparalleled handling precision. The rear subframe with the engine mount and rear axle suspension points is made from aluminum – another lightweight material with which Lamborghini has a great deal of experience.</p>
<p>An important element in optimum construction using CFRP technology is the maximum integration of functions. Thus, the body-shell exterior is made up only of the roof section, which is part of the monocoque, the two &#8220;cofango&#8221; covers front and rear with integrated aerodynamic components and the doors. Each door consists of only two elements, the exterior skin and the interior cladding, both of which are also permanently bonded to create one component.</p>
<p><strong>Carbon fiber even in the suspension</strong><br />
The suspension and the area around the engine have also been optimized with lightweight engineering. Alongside aluminum components, there are also carbon-fiber control arms: innovative Forged Composite technology is also well-suited to this kind of high-load part. These components are around 30 percent lighter than comparable aluminum parts. The propeller shaft is also made of CFRP by using Wrapping technology. This solution allowed the Lamborghini engineers to get rid of the central joint, bringing an important weight saving. The rims are also made from CFRP, while the brake discs are from carbon-ceramic composite material. A similar composite material is used for the tailpipes on the exhaust system – the compound of ceramic powder and synthetic resin makes this carbon material extremely heat resistant. A large number of screw fastenings feature a special titanium alloy and joining technology from the aviation sector.</p>
<p>Based on the form, function and operational demands of the individual Sesto Elemento components, engineers from Lamborghini&#8217;s R&amp;D selected largely from three CFRP manufacturing techniques within their technology tool kit:</p>
<p>Forged Composite: Here, materials with short carbon fibers are hot pressed in a mould. The process facilitates complex structures and is used for parts such as the underside of the monocoque and the suspension arms.<br />
Prepreg: The carbon-fiber mats are soaked in a thermoset liquid resin. They are pressed in moulds and cured in an oven under heat and pressure. Prepreg components have a very good surface finish and are therefore the preferred choice for use in visible areas.<br />
Braiding: This is a method to manufacture composite filament derived from the textile industry. Each thread is diagonally intertwined on different levels.</p>
<p><strong>Drive:<br />
Concentrated power and amazing sound</strong></p>
<p>The fascinating heart of the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is familiar from the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera. In the Sesto Elemento too, the V10 unit is mounted &#8220;longitudinale posteriore&#8221; – longitudinally behind the driver. The 570 hp output equals 419 kW, all of which is available at 8,000 r/min. The pulling power is just as impressive – with the torque curve peaking at 540 Nm and 6,500 r/min.</p>
<p>The V10 offers 5,204 cm3 of displacement, delivering a specific output of 80.5 kW (109.6 hp) per liter of displacement. The highlights of this long-stroke engine with an aluminum crankcase include dry sump lubrication and a cylinder angle of 90 degrees. Both solutions are an integral part of the lightweight engineering approach, as well as serving to lower the center of gravity and thus tighten the handling characteristics. Ideal combustion chamber fill comes courtesy of a switch-over induction system and continually variable, chain-driven camshafts.</p>
<p><strong>Best traction with all-wheel drive</strong><br />
The Sesto Elemento is equipped with the e.gear transmission, controlled in race car fashion via shift paddles mounted on the steering wheel. The automated system with electronic management shifts smoothly through its six gears much faster than a human being would be able to.</p>
<p>Every single kilometer in the Sesto Elemento is sheer fascination – due in part to the relentless traction delivered under practically all conditions. This is largely attributable to the permanent all-wheel drive system. It incorporates a central viscous coupling and a self-locking differential for the rear wheels with 45 percent lock. Thanks to this superior traction, Lamborghini drivers can accelerate earlier out of a curve than those in rear-wheel drive cars.</p>
<p><strong>Competence:<br />
New development center for carbon-fiber technology</strong></p>
<p>Lamborghini possesses many years of experience with carbon-fiber reinforced materials. As far back as 1983, it produced the first prototype CFRP chassis for the Countach, with the first series production parts appearing in 1985. The current Lamborghini Murciélago is made largely from CFRP – its body-in-white contains 93 kilograms of carbon-fiber materials. The engine cover panel of the Gallardo Spyder is one of the largest CFRP components with class A surface quality in the automotive world.</p>
<p>The company is now working steadily to expand its worldwide leading position. The new Advanced Composites Research Center (ACRC) at the company headquarter in Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese is working on innovative construction and production methods for carbon-fiber elements in automobile design.</p>
<p>The Advanced Composite Research Center in Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese secures leading-edge research on innovative materials and production methods for carbon fiber elements for small production volumes. Here, over 30 experts develop vehicle components of all shapes and sizes. They build prototypes and the associated production tools while developing optimized production technologies. Sophisticated systems largely developed in-house allow extremely high precision levels as engineers simulate manufacturing processes as well as carry out crash tests on complex carbon-fiber structures. Thanks to the extensively patented &#8220;RTM Lambo&#8221; process, Lamborghini can use minimal pressure and relatively low temperatures to manufacture carbon-fiber components to the highest levels of quality, precision and surface finish, from small parts to complex vehicle structures. Further benefits include higher process speeds, lower costs, and extremely light tooling.</p>
<p>The Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory (ACSL) at the University of Washington uses experimental tests to define the mechanical behavior of the different materials and technologies using methodology from the aviation industry. The team of research engineers in Seattle works with very specific instruments and methods in close cooperation with the R&amp;D headquarters and the ACRC in Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese.</p></blockquote>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Porsche Panamera&#8217;nın üretim görüntülerini haber yaparken farkettim ki, Carluvr&#8217;da henüz spor sedan denilen ve sektörde içinde yaşadığımız çağda doğmuş olan yeni sınıf hakkında henüz hiç atıp tutmamışım. Bu sınıfa coupé sedan da dense de spor sedan tanımını daha çok içselleştirdiğim için onu kullanmayı tercih ediyorum.</p>
<p>Spor sedanların asıl çıkış noktaları, Mercedes-Benz ve BMW&#8217;nin E ve 5 serisi gibi modellerinin fabrika onaylı modifiye edilmiş E55 AMG ve M5 gibi modelleri. Daha küçük sınıftaki aşırı güçlü sedanları bu sınıfa sokmuyoruz, çünkü spor sedanlar çok güçlü ve çok spor olmalarının yanı sıra, arka koltuklarında da limuzin konforu sunmalılar.</p>
<p>Bu sınıfta alışılagelmiş kalıpların kırılmasından 2 model sorumlu. İlk model, 1963&#8242;ten beri üretilmekte olan, fakat en karizmatik ve etkileyici haline 2004 yılında piyasaya çıkan 5. jenerasyonuyla bürünen <a href="http://www.maserati.com/maserati/en/en/index/models/Quattroporte-S.html"><strong>Maserati Quattroporte</strong></a>.</p>

<p>Maserati Quattroporte 2004&#8242;te piyasaya çıktığında o kadar sıradışı bir sportif ve elegan görüntü sunuyordu ki, V8 motorlu diğer rakipleri öğrenci servisi gibi göründüler yanında. Maserati Quattroporte 9 Eylül 2003&#8242;te Frankfurt Otomobil Fuarı&#8217;nda tanıtılmıştı.</p>
<p>2004 New York International Autoshow&#8217;da ise yepyeni ve inanılmaz güzellikte bir Mercedes-Benz dünyaya tanıtıldı. Mevcut E-Serisi&#8217;nin kasasının çok az uzatılması sonucu E-Series platformunda geliştirilen bu yeni sınıfa Mercedes-Benz, CLS adını verdi.</p>

<p>Mercedes-Benz CLS gerçek bir coupé&#8217;nin profil çizgilerine sahip, ihtişamlı bir lüks otomobildi. Aracın ilk tanıtılan versiyonu CLS 500&#8242;dü. Daha sonra AMG modeli de tanıtıldı. Ülkemizde ve Avrupa&#8217;da CLS 350 en çok satan versiyon oldu. CLS 63 AMG modeli, 0&#8242;dan 100&#8242;km/h hıza 3,9 saniyede çıkabiliyordu. Gerçek bir sporcu.</p>
<p>İngiltere&#8217;nin prestijli otomobil markası Aston Martin, henüz Arap kökenli bir fona satılmadan önce 2006 North American Autoshow&#8217;da 4 kapılı Aston Martin Rapide adlı konseptini tanıtarak sadece 2 kapılı spor otomobil üreten bir şirket olarak 4 kapılı süper spor sedan pazarına gireceğini müjdelediğinde sektörde yeni bir kırılımı da gerçekleştirmiş oldu. Aston Martin gibi kendi tarzına sahip harikulade spor otomobiller yapan bir şirket, özellikle doğuda yükselen potansiyeli görmüş ve marka DNA&#8217;sını bir miktar daha genişleterek karlı pazarlar için de bir model geliştirmeye karar vermişti.</p>

<p>Rapide modelinin 2009 sonuna yetişmesi bekleniyor. Fakat bu arada Rapide&#8217;den daha geç duyulan ama ondan daha önce piyasaya çıkmayı başaran başka bir bomba daha var.</p>
<p>Porsche Panamera. Çok zengin olup da iki kişilik bir spor otomobile yüzbinlerce avro bayılmayı gözden çıkartmayacak kesim için ailesiyle de gezebileceği ya da sadece basitçe arka koltukla işleriyle ilgilenebileceği bir otomobil sunmak için yola çıkan Porsche, bir yandan da Porsche genlerine sonuna kadar bağlı, üstün performanslı bir otomobil geliştirmeyi başardı. 2007&#8242;de bir casus fotoğrafla geliştirilmekte olduğu bilgisi edinilen Panamera, 2009 Eylül&#8217;de Türkiye&#8217;de de lanse ediliyor.</p>

<p>Model geliştirip yeni segmentlere sıçrama konusunda kimse Audi kadar hevesli olamaz. Tabii ki özellikle 90&#8242;lardan beri gözüne kestirdiği en önemli rakibi olan Mercedes-Benz&#8217;in CLS&#8217;inin başarısından beri aynı sınıfta bir araç geliştirme hevesinde olan Audi, 2009&#8242;da yine diğer rakipleri gibi ABD&#8217;de Audi Sportback konseptini tanıttı. Bu konseptin 2 yıl içerisinde A7 adında yeni bir Audi sınıfı olarak yollara çıkacağını bile artık sağır sultan bile biliyor. Bu Audi A7&#8242;nin agresif ve fütüristik burun tasarımı sizi şaşırtmasın, önümüzdeki yıl yenilenecek A3 serisinde ve Seat Ibiza&#8217;nın gudik kasası üzerinde inşa edilen Mini rakibi A1 serisinde de bu köşeli ön ızgarayı ve antidepresanını unutmuş sorunlu ergen bakışlarını göreceğiz.</p>

<p>Bu arada sektörün en önemli oyuncularından BMW, Concept CS adında dehşet uyandırıcı bir konsepti tanıtmış olmasına rağmen bu modeli üretime geçirmeyeceğini duyurdu ve onun yerine sportif sedan kavramına SUV (sports utility vehicle) baharatını da katarak BMW X6 adlı cesur modeli piyasaya sürdü.</p>

<p>Model çok hızlı bir satış rakamı yakalasa da küresel finans krizinin ve yükselmekte olan sahte çevrecilik modasının da etkisiyle olumsuz bir imaj tehliklesiyle karşı karşıya kaldı. Bana sorarsanız BMW X6 şu anda piyasadaki gerçekten bağımsız bir düşünceyle yaratılmış ve konsept otomobil güzelliğine sahip ender araçlardan birisi.</p>
<p>BMW bu yıl bir konsept daha tanıttı. Önümüzdeki yıl resmi olarak tanıtılması beklenen yeni 5 serisinin üzerine inşa edilmiş Consept Series 5 GT adlı bu model de, sedan, coupe ve SUV özelliklerini daha yumuşak bir formda birleştiriyor. Güncel 5 serisinden daha yüksek tavanı ve oturma yapısıyla sürücüsüne bir SUV görüşü sunarken kasaya tam anlamıyla SUV demek mümkün değil. Tamamen tüketici davranış araştırmalarına dayanarak geliştirilen model, hislerle çizilen otomobillere hayranlık duyan nesil tarfından fazla laboratuar ürünü olmakla eleştiriliyor.</p>

<p>2008&#8242;de İngiltere&#8217;de lansmanı yapılan Jaguar XF de bu modayı yakalayan markalar içinde formu kendine en çok yakıştıran oldu. Jaguar markasının değerleri diğer bir çok markaya göre sportif limuzin kavramına daha yakındı belki. Jaguar XF ülkemizde de satılan ve Aston Martin&#8217;i andıran arka tasarımı, retro-chich&#8217;ten vazgeçerek doğru bir şekilde yepyeni bir kedi yüzüne kavuşan ön tasarımı ile sokaklarda görüldüğünde keyifle izlenen bir otomobil.</p>

<p>Son olarak İtalyan spor otomobil markaları arasında Ferrari&#8217;den sonra en çok hayran olunan VW Grup bünyesindeki Lamborghini, 2008 Paris Motor Show&#8217;da bir sürpriz yaptı ve Lamborghini Estoque (estokey) adlı konseptini tanıttı. Lamborghini Estoque, henüz üretimine kesin karar verilmemiş olunsa da V8&#8242;den daha büyük motoru olmayacağı, diğer Lambolar gibi 4 teker çekişli olacağı ve ürün gamında hybrid bir motorun bile bulunabileceği konuşulan konular arasında. Ben ilk gördüğümde sevgilim tarafından ihanete uğramış gibi hissetsem de, şu anda Estoque&#8217;in kendine has bir güzelliği olduğunu, Porsche&#8217;nin ve Aston Martin&#8217;in mengeneyle çekilip uzatılmış coupé formundaki garip sedanlarından çok daha asil olduğunu düşünüyorum.</p>

Cenevre Otomobil Fuarı</strong></a>&#8216;nda lansmanı yapılan Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce&#8217;yi haber yapacağıma, aynı fuarda tanıtılan yeni <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5162809/ferrari-599xx-first-live-shots-of-new-track+ready-stallion"><strong>Ferrari 599XX</strong></a>&#8216;i haber yapmayı tercih ederdim. Ne de olsa &#8220;Viagraaaa!&#8221; diye sokakta bağırarak gezen yaşlı bir amcaya benzeyen SuperVeloce&#8217;nin aksine 599XX sadece pistlerde kullanılmak üzere yapılmış ve son tüketiciye satılan gerçek bir yarış otomobili. Bir spor otomobilin olması gerektiği gibi.</p>
<p>Gel gelelim, bu Lambo&#8217;ların en hormonlusunun bir videosuna denk gelmemle, kafamda şimşeklerin çakması da bir oldu. Yarış, spor bir tarafa, bu SuperVeloce gerçekten de çocukken duvarıma astığım posterdeki hayal otomobil gibiydi. Bol bol hız ve keyif vaadediyordu, bir de ancak ergenlikte sahip olunabilecek bir fallik dışavurum isteği. Bunun nesi kötüydü ki? Bence hiçbir tarafı.</p>

<p>The Lamborghini Murciélago is one of the most extraordinary super sports cars of all time. Automobili Lamborghini has now expanded its model range with a new, exceptionally purist and even more extreme top model &#8211; the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is even more powerful, lighter and faster than the Murciélago LP 640. With the output of the 6.5 liter V12 increased to 670 hp and a weight reduction of 100 kg (220 lbs), the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs) per hp. This catapults it from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a breathtaking 3.2 seconds and powers it on to a top speed of around 342 km/h (212 mph). Distinctive design refinements ensure that each of this 350-unit limited edition series conveys its full potential from the very first glance.</p>
<p>With its outstanding performance, razor-sharp precision and exceptional high-speed stability, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is the ultimate performance car for advanced sports car drivers. The super sports car has been extensively redesigned with a new front and rear, an innovative engine bonnet and a choice of two aerodynamic set-ups featuring either a small or large rear spoiler. The interior in Alcantara and carbon fiber provides a purist and minimalist approach.</p>
<p>In order to achieve the substantial weight reduction of 100 kilograms (220 lbs), the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce was extensively reworked and redeveloped in virtually every aspect &#8211; from chassis to engine and transmission, right through to the interior. The increase in engine output from 640 to 670 hp is the result of optimized valve timing and a reworked intake system. The significantly modified aerodynamics with substantially increased downforce brings considerable improvement to vehicle stability at very high speeds. With the small standard-fit rear spoiler, top speed stands at 342 km/h (212 mph), while the large &#8220;Aeropack Wing&#8221; and its added downforce gives a top speed of 337 km/h (209 mph).</p>

<strong>Design and aerodynamics</strong></p>
<p>The Murciélago is an icon of the Lamborghini brand &#8211; a sports machine of menacing character and brutal power. Its unique design radiates a supreme form of highly concentrated sensuality. Wide, low, with its glass area pushed way forward and a long, taut back &#8211; the interplay between the soft contours of the basic form and razor sharp edges is the perfect expression of the Lamborghini design language. In the totality of its character, the Murciélago is without comparison on the sports car market.</p>
<p>Yet even a character like this can be further refined &#8211; the new Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is the more extreme, even more purist pinnacle of the model range. This is clearly evident from the very first glimpse of its completely redesigned front end &#8211; pulled way forward and finished in matt black paint, the carbon fiber front spoiler is connected to the front end via two vertical elements. The large air intakes for the front brakes are more powerfully emphasized. The new front fenders feature additional air intakes for brake ventilation. The air vent for the oil cooler located in the driver-side sill area is painted matt black to match the sills.</p>
<p>The modifications are even more apparent around the mighty engine bay of the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. The twelve-cylinder engine is presented as an engineering masterpiece under a transparent engine bonnet that boasts a completely new architecture. Hexagonal polymer plates made from transparent polycarbonate are set on three levels within a carbon fiber framework. The layers are open towards the rear, playing a key role in the thermodynamics of the high-performance engine.</p>
<p>The impressive rear end of the SuperVeloce is dominated by a veritably noble, flat and extremely wide exhaust tailpipe and, on the underside, by a two-level diffuser system finished entirely in carbon fiber. The rear light clusters display their signals in that distinctive Y-shape that has been a fixed element of Lamborghini design since the Murciélago LP 640, Reventón and Gallardo LP 560-4. The panel between the lights is made from carbon fiber, while the large intake mesh below expands across the full width of the rear end. Made from thick-walled aluminum, the hexagonal pattern is laser-cut and a Teflon coating provides the necessary heat protection.</p>
<p>The aerodynamics of the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce have been completely redeveloped. Alongside the enlarged front spoiler and the twin rear diffuser, the new fixed rear spoiler also plays an important role. Customers can choose between two versions, with the small rear spoiler providing improved downforce at high speeds. As an option, the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce can be supplied with the &#8220;Aeropack Wing&#8221; &#8211; a large, fixed, carbon-fiber wing mounted on two carbon-fiber brackets. The new aerodynamic set-up provides a significant boost to directional stability at the very highest speeds. The top-speed downforce on the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce with Aeropack is strongly increased.<br />
<strong>Bodyshell and lightweight construction</strong></p>
<p>With the construction of the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, Lamborghini proves its expertise in the manufacture of lightweight materials and in working with hi-tech carbon fiber. The structure of the super sports car is a composite construction of extremely stiff carbon components and a tubular steel frame &#8211; as in a race car. The transmission tunnel and the floor are made of carbon fiber, attached to the steel frame using rivets and high-strength adhesives. The roof and the exterior door panels are formed in sheet steel, while the remainder of the outer skin is made from carbon composite material.</p>
<p>For the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, engineers in Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese recalculated the framework and selected a new, super high-strength sectional steel. This achieved two objectives &#8211; on the one hand, they increased the torsional stiffness of the chassis by 12 percent to provide improved handling precision and, on the other, they were able to reduce weight by 20 kg (44 lbs), making a significant contribution to the reduction of overall vehicle weight. And the systematic approach to lightweight design continues throughout the entire bodyshell. The front fenders, the rear side panels/fenders and the casing for the third brake light are made of a modified carbon-fiber material. Combined with the removal of the drive for the moveable spoiler, this brings a further weight reduction of 13 kg (28.6 lbs).</p>
<p>Added to the 33 kg (72.6 lbs) of weight reduction from the chassis and exterior, are 34 kg (74.8 lbs) from the interior, as well as over 33 kg (72.6 lbs) removed from the engine and drive train.<br />
<strong>Power unit and transmission</strong></p>
<p>The longitudinally mounted 6.5 liter V12 delivers the infernal power for an unparalleled driving experience. With 670 hp (493 kW), the engine in the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is 30 hp more powerful than in the Murciélago LP 640. The twelve-cylinder sends its mighty 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque to the crankshaft at 6,500 rpm; maximum power is reached at 8,000 rpm, with an average piston speed of 23.7 meters per second &#8211; a figure almost comparable to race engines.</p>
<p>The V12 is eager to deliver its performance &#8211; it brings its menacing power with immediacy and precision to guarantee breathtaking performance &#8211; after only 3.2 seconds the SuperVeloce has already reached 100 km/h (62 mph).</p>
<p>The engine block and heads of the V12, positioned at the ideal cylinder angle of 60 degrees, are made from aluminum. The four chain-driven camshafts are variably controlled, while the intake manifold operates in three stages &#8211; both technologies add even greater thrust to the merciless pushing power. To increase the performance of the SuperVeloce, the intake system was modified, the valve train optimized and, most importantly, valve travel was increased.</p>
<p>The control electronics for the V12 were developed internally by Lamborghini &#8211; each cylinder bank has its own high-performance processor. If the engine needs more cooling air, intake funnels emerge from the rear pillars: when not in operation, they lie flush with the bodyshell. Dry sump lubrication enables the V12 to be mounted extremely low down, benefiting the handling dynamics: this also guarantees oil supply under extremely dynamic driving conditions. With 12 liters of lubricating oil in circulation, the oil cooler is located on the left side of the vehicle and cooled by air flowing through the aperture in the sill.</p>
<p>The weight reduction of more than 26 kg (57 lbs) in the engine area was derived primarily from the completely new exhaust system. The muffler has been redesigned and even the mighty tailpipe of the SuperVeloce manufactured from new materials is lighter than on the Murciélago LP 640. But most of all, the new exhaust system makes for an acoustic experience that is surely equal to the driving performance &#8211; from the heavy rumble of a stormy night, through the trumpeting of mighty elephants to the roar of a raging lion, the SuperVeloce performs the grand opera for 12 cylinders, 48 valves and 8,000 revs.</p>
<p>The SuperVeloce is equipped as standard with the sequential, automated manual transmission e.gear, which uses electro-hydraulics to shift gear extremely quickly and smoothly. A cockpit display informs the driver of the gear currently engaged. In addition a special &#8220;Corsa&#8221; mode and a &#8220;Low adherence&#8221; mode are available.</p>
<p>As a no-premium option, the SuperVeloce is available with a six-speed manual transmission. Its short metal shift stick runs in an open gate of classic Italian elegance. In both variants, the new lightweight clutch makes its own contribution to the weight loss program.<br />
<strong>All-wheel drive and chassis</strong></p>
<p>The Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce delivers its extreme power to the road with great reliability &#8211; assured by its permanent all-wheel drive. Before the rear wheels spin, the viscous coupling sends up to 35 percent of driving force via its additional shaft to the front wheels. The front and rear limited-slip differentials are set at 25 and 45 percent. With its four driven wheels and traction, the Murciélago delivers a decisive advantage over rear-wheel drive sports cars when it comes to accelerating out of a corner &#8211; and always with maximum stability. The rear axle bears 58 percent of its overall weight &#8211; a distribution ratio that is highly beneficial to traction.</p>
<p>Explosive dynamics, tenacious cornering and extreme speeds &#8211; the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is a super sports car packed with aggressive power, but by no means a mean-spirited car. Its steering requires very little power support, giving full control of the car to the driver. Those prepared to tackle the beast head on are quickly rewarded with intimate contact and trust &#8211; as speed increases, so the Murciélago reveals its strengths, thus exposing a character with no hidden surprises and behavior that can always be anticipated.</p>
<p>The Murciélago is fitted with double wishbone suspension all round. Spring struts &#8211; two on each of the rear wheels and one on each of the front &#8211; control the loads transferred from the road. The standard-fit lifting system enables the front end of the vehicle to be raised by 45 mm (1.8 inches) to avoid obstacles such as garage entryways. The SuperVeloce is equipped with exclusive &#8220;Ares&#8221; alloy-forged wheels, bearing the exclusive five twin-spoke design. The front wheels are clad in 245/35 ZR 18 rubber, while the rears sport 335/30 ZR 18. High-grip Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires come as standard.</p>
<p>Four brakes controlled by a hi-tech ABS system are capable of mighty stopping power when required. The Carbon Ceramic (CCB) brakes are fanned by cooling air flowing through enlarged channels in the bodyshell, while openings in the front fenders provide additional ventilation for the SuperVeloce. The ceramic discs are exceptionally lightweight, fade-free and capable of extremely high operational performance.<br />
<strong>Interior and equipment</strong></p>
<p>Even stepping into the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is an experience as individual as the vehicle itself. The upward-opening doors &#8211; a solution developed by Lamborghini in the early seventies for the Countach &#8211; are released via small latches, then swing wide open to reveal a panorama of the exclusive interior of the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. The dominating materials are Alcantara and carbon fiber, which make for an ambience that is as high-quality as it is sporty.</p>
<p>The sports bucket seats come as standard and provide exceptionally firm support around the hip and shoulder areas. The bucket seats are made from lightweight and highly robust carbon fiber and guarantee the driver perfect support, even in the most extreme driving situations. The Murciélago&#8217;s standard seats are also available on the SuperVeloce as an option free of charge.</p>
<p>Not only the seats are upholstered in black Alcantara micro-fiber; the cockpit and the roof lining are also finished in this high-quality, lightweight material. The Y-shaped perforations on the seats and roof lining bring additional finesse, with an inlaid backing material in the same color as the exterior paintwork. The Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce can be delivered with the paint finishes Giallo Orion, Arancio Atlas, Bianco Isis, Grigio Telesto and Nero Aldebaran, as well as Bianco Canopus (white matt) and Nero Nemesis (black matt) as an option.</p>
<p>Naturally, the interior also makes its contribution to weight reduction. The door panels are clad in carbon fiber, as is the wide center tunnel. The application of Alcantara instead of leather is another weight-saver, just like the selection of sports bucket seats and the omission of the radio-navigation system (if requested, this is available as an option). At the end of the day, the music in a Murciélago comes from the engine compartment. Overall, modifications to the interior contribute over 34 kg (75 lbs) to the SuperVeloce weight loss program.</p>
<p>But absolutely no corners have been cut when it comes to one characteristic that is a feature of all Lamborghini super sports cars &#8211; the exceptionally high quality of the workmanship. The craftsmen in Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese are all masters of their respective trades; the three-year warranty bears testimony to absolute faith in product quality.</p></div>

<p>Daha bir hafta önce Fransa&#8217;da Paris Otomobil Fuarı düzenlendiği için bütün büyük otomobil markaları yeni konsept araçlarını ve son modellerinin lansmanlarını orada yapmışlardı. Bir hafta içinde ikinci bir fuara tüm bu konseptleri taşıyamadıkları için İstanbul Autoshow 2008 daha çok Honda Open Study Model gibi daha önce başka fuarlarda sergilenmiş eski konseptlere ev sahipliği yapabilecekti ancak. Fuara bu bilgiyle, beklentimiz yüksek olmadan gittik. Zaten bana kalırsa otomobil fuarlarının en büyük güzelliği piyasada ilgilendiğiniz tüm modelleri ve markaları bir arada görebilmektir. Ben de Alfa Romeo MiTo, Fiat 500, Toyota Avensis gibi piyasaya yeni çıkacak araçları inceleyebileceğim için yeterince keyifliydim.</p>
<p>Fuara salon 1&#8242;den giriş yaptık. Bu salonu artık alıştığımız üzere Doğuş Otomotiv kapatmış ve markaları olan Audi, Bentley, Skoda, Lamborghini, Volkswagen ve Porsche standlarını yerleştirmişti. Audi R8&#8242;i başındaki kalabalıkla başbaşa bırakıp hızla Volkswagen Scirocco&#8217;nun yanına gittik. VW Scirocco&#8217;nun konsept hali olan Iroc&#8217;u 2 sene önceki Autoshow&#8217;da <a href="http://www.bigumigu.com/haber.asp?hid=1113"><strong>görmüştüm</strong></a>. Üretim modelinin bu konsepte neden benzemediğini de daha önceki bir yazımda <a href="http://www.carluvr.com/index.php/2008/07/04/volkswagen-temel-cizgisine-geri-donuyor/"><strong>açıklamıştım</strong></a>. Doğrusu VW Scirocco&#8217;nun yakından bu kadar heyecan verici görüneceğini tahmin etmiyordum. Doğuş Otomotiv fuara bir kırmızı, bir de lansman rengi olan beyaz modeli getirmişti. İkisi de çok güzel görünüyorlardı. Ancak 1.4 TSI motorlu baz modelin yaklaşık 60 bin lira olduğunu düşününce insan iç kabinin de daha az sıkıcı olmasını bekliyor. Scirocco&#8217;yu çok beğenmeme rağmen EOS&#8217;la birebir aynı olan iç kabininin sıradanlığı yüzünden günün listesinde bir numaraya oturtmuyorum.</p>
<p><strong>Volkswagen Scirocco</strong></p>

<p>Volkswagen standının hemen karşısında yer alan Lamborghini standı -beklendiği üzere- ziyaretçilere kapalıydı. Bir adet Murcielago LP640 ve bir de yeni Gallardo LP560-4&#8242;ün yer aldığı stand alabildiğine sıkıcı ve anlamsızdı. Araçların kapılarını açık olarak sergilemek, kimsenin dokunmadığı otomobilleri sürekli tamirci giyimli bir delikanlının silmesi gibi Lambo markası ile örtüştüremediğim bir sergileme durumu sözkonusuydu. Gallardo&#8217;nun metalik mat beyazı ise hayranlık vericiydi. Zaten beyaz renk fuara resmen damgasını vurmuştu bu sene. En güzel beyaz kesinlikle Lamborghini Gallardo&#8217;nunkiydi.</p>

<p>Eskisinden ne farkı olduğunu anlamadığım ve merak da etmediğim Porsche 911&#8242;in ve diğer Porsche modellerinin yanından geçerek geziye devam ettik. Bu arada Porsche standındaki tüm modeller de beyazdı. Ford standı bir miktar heyecan barındıran standlardandı. Hem yeni KA, hem de yeni Fiesta modelleri ilk defa burada gösteriliyorlardı. Fiat 500&#8242;le aynı platformda üretilen Ka, 500&#8242;ü fazla retro bulan tüketiciler için güzel bir modern alternatif olabilir. Fiesta da oldukça güzel bir B segmenti alternatifi olmuş doğrusu. Proporsiyonlar ve hatlar ilgi çekici.</p>

<p>Fuarın en eğlenceli bölümü bence yanyana sıralanmış Koç bünyesinde temsil edilen markaların standlarıydı; Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati ve Ferrari. Maserati ve Ferrari standları diğer süper spor otomobil standları gibi halka kapalı, VIP&#8217;e açıktı. Maserati birazcık daha büyüktü ama Ferrariler sıkıştırılmış gibiydi. Bazı Maseratiler&#8217;in ön camında duran &#8220;SATILMIŞTIR&#8221; yazısı da oldukça ucuz bir görüntüydü ne yazık ki.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Fiat standını sonunda ülkemizde de satışa sunulan Fiat 500 domine ediyordu. 500 gerçekten çok güzel bir otomobil. Yakından da beğeneceğime şüphem yoktu. Peki ya malzeme kalitesi ve işçilik? Fiat sonunda kalite hissi geçirebilen bir otomobil üretebilmiş miydi? Kesinlikle evet! Fiat 500&#8242;ün dışı da, içi de tasarımının ince detaylarının hakettiği kaliteli malzemelerle üretilmiş. Otomobilin içerisinde kendinizi kesinlikle çok iyi hissediyorsunuz. Fiat 500&#8242;ün henüz resmi olarak açıklanmamış fiyatını da sonunda öğrendim. Baz model 28.000 liradan başlıyor. Baz modeli otomatik vitesli olarak alırsanız bu fiyat 30.000&#8242;e çıkıyor. En güzeli de 500&#8242;ü aynen Avrupa&#8217;da olduğu gibi onlarca farklı kişiselleştirilebilir farklı model tiplerinde getiriyor Fiat. Bu arada 500&#8242;e çok da güzel bir broşür hazırlanmış. Normalde fuarlarda dağıtılan tek kırım dört sayfa föyler gibi değil, sayfalarca bilgi ve fotoğraf içeren şık bir broşüru var Fiat 500&#8242;ün. Bu seneki İstanbul Autoshow&#8217;un yıldızı kesinlikle Fiat 500&#8242;dü.</p>

<p>Fiat 500 kadar merakla beklediğim diğer otomobil de Alfa Romeo MiTo&#8217;ydu. Mito hakkında burada da bir çok yazı yazmıştım daha önce. Aracı yakından da çok beğendim. B segmentinin en güzel otomobili olmuş Mito. Fiat grubunda efsane MINI ile rekabet etmek için Fiat 500 ve Alfa Romeo MiTo birlikte kullanılmış. Fiat 500 daha çok stili ve retro tasarımıyla MINI&#8217;nin şirin tarafına oynarken, Alfa Romeo MiTo, performans ve yol tutuşu özellikleriyle ayrı bir cephede savaş açmış durumda MINI&#8217;ye. Her şekilde 500 de Mito da MINI&#8217;den daha taze alternatifler ve MINI&#8217;nin klostrofobik iç mekanının aksine bu araçlar ön koltuklarında gayet büyük bir mekan sunuyor kullanıcılarına. MiTo&#8217;nun direksiz kapı camları, aracın sportifliğinin bir hayli arttırmış. Alfa Romeo standında Brera ve GT modellerini de tekrar inceledim. Özellikle Brera&#8217;nin iç tasarımını Audi TT ile karşılaştırmak istiyordum. Bu karşılaştırmada kazanan yok.</p>

<p>Lancia standında yeni Lancia Delta&#8217;yı inceledim. C segmentinde yer almasına rağmen özellikle arka koltuklarında D segmentinin alanını ve konforunu sunan bu aracın sınıfını kesin olarak belirlemek kolay değil. Beş kapılı upper C hatchback sayılabilecek Audi A3 Sportback bu kadar ferah ve rahat değil. Malzeme kalitesi de bariz şekilde Alfa Romeo&#8217;dan üstün bir his veriyor. Yeni Lancia Delta&#8217;ya gerçekten önem vermiş Lancia. Lancia standının arkası dikey olarak yerleştirilmiş aynalarla süslenmişti ve diğer standlardan çok daha şık duruyordu.</p>

<p>4 kapılı bir spor sedan Lamborghini modeli fikrine bile karşı olduğum için Estoque&#8217;u gördüğümde halihazırda önyargılıydım. Fakat aracın orantıları o kadar kötü ki, önyargılarımdan bağımsız olarak da karikatür gibi olduğunu düşünüyorum. Aston Martin Rapide&#8217;de de aynı orantı sorunu var bana kalırsa. Uzatmadan Lamborghini Estoque fotoğrafları ve videosuyla başbaşa bırakayım sizi.</p>

<p><em>Lamborghini Estoque is a study, a concept created specifically for the 2008 Salon d&#8217;Automobiles in Paris. From the very first glance there can be no doubt that this is a Lamborghini &#8211; a car with compelling presence, both unique and unmistakable. The long wheelbase, the low profile, the broad track, the mighty, accentuated wheels, the clean surfaces and razor-sharp definition &#8211; every single line breathes the spirit of the Lamborghini brand.</em></p>

<p><em>The Lamborghini Estoque is an entirely new interpretation of the Sant&#8217; Agata design ethic: it is a concept that provides a clear indication of the future. The Lamborghini Estoque is the first sedan in the history of Automobili Lamborghini, although &#8220;sedan&#8221; is more a reference to the number of doors than any other characteristics. <p><strong><em>A sign of success</em></strong></p>
<p><em>In Paris, the Lamborghini Estoque demonstrates the innovation, the creativity and the design flair of the Lamborghini brand, currently represented by the enormous success enjoyed by Lamborghini Gallardo and Murciélago super sports cars.</em></p>
<p><em>As a concept, the Lamborghini Estoque represents one of several possibilities for a third model series within the Lamborghini product line-up. At this point in time, no decisions have been taken in respect of either a third model series of any kind or of the Lamborghini Estoque concept in particular.</em></p>
<p><em>Of course, as a true Lamborghini, it goes without saying that the Lamborghini Estoque also bears a suitably powerful name with a rich heritage from the Spanish Corrida &#8211; bull fighting. The Lamborghini Estoque is a rapier (sword), approximately 90 centimetres (35.43 inches) long, used in a bull fight by the Matador.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>The Concept</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Lamborghini Estoque embodies the concept of a Lamborghini that is both a dedicated sports car and a relaxed Gran Turismo. As a sedan with four doors and four individual sports seats, it is a multi-faceted vehicle for multi-faceted lifestyles.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Relaxed Gran Turismo</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The Lamborghini Estoque is the perfect travelling companion, be it en route to business meetings, the theatre, the golf course or even a weekend away with the kids. At the end of the day, it is the only car that allows you to share the singular driving pleasure of a Lamborghini with more than one person &#8211; possibly even with the whole family. And there is still enough room left over for weekend luggage or several golf bags.</em></p>
<p><em>Despite its extremely low profile &#8211; at a mere 1.35 meters (4.43 feet) high &#8211; the Lamborghini Estoque is surprisingly spacious. The secret lies in its very long wheelbase which, in spite of the rearwards positioning of the front mid-engine, enables a relaxed, sporty seating position. Entering and exiting is also pleasingly straightforward through the large, wide-opening doors.</em></p>

<p><em>At the same, the Lamborghini Estoque is a thoroughbred sports car with exceptionally refined power delivery, razor-sharp precision handling and a meaty engine tone. Challenging driving pleasure on a winding mountain road, followed by a relaxed, enjoyable journey along miles and miles of motorway- the Lamborghini Estoque is commanding across the entire driving spectrum, at the highest level. The Lamborghini Estoque&#8217;s versatility makes it the perfect addition to the range of Lamborghini super sports cars.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Design</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Such a Lamborghini must be immediately recognizable in its design as a unique and unmistakable work of art. For the Lamborghini Estoque, this is clearly a case of &#8220;mission accomplished.&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>The proportions of the Lamborghini Estoque are simply fascinating: no other automobile combines so convincingly the elegance of length with the sporting attributes of a low profile and impressive breadth. Or to put it into figures &#8211; the concept painted in an all-new color, is 5.15 meters (16.89 feet) long and 1.99 meters (6.53 feet) wide, with a height of only 1.35 metres (4.43 feet). The wheelbase is a stately 3.01 meters (9.88 feet) &#8211; an equally important element of elegant vehicle architecture.</em></p>
<p><em>And it is unequivocally Italian &#8211; the flat bonnet, the long wheelbase, the narrow window openings, the flat rear that ends decisively with a negative return &#8211; it is all pure &#8220;Italianità&#8221; on wheels; everything bears the design language of the large classic Italian four-door cars, albeit with a unique, modern interpretation. Pure Lamborghini.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Clearly a sports car</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The front end of the Lamborghini Estoque is a clear and unambiguous statement of its sports car credentials. Its place amongst the family of Lamborghini super sports cars is also distinct and unmistakable &#8211; with its swooping V-shape, its two large air intakes pulled forward and the small front spoiler in between. This front end design gives the Lamborghini Estoque a firm, low stance, while providing excellent aerodynamic efficiency. The large air intakes facilitate the cooling air that is important for such a high-performance vehicle and the spoiler was specifically designed to improve aerodynamic balance at high speeds.</em></p>
<p><em>Such distinctive sports car architecture is only possible by positioning the front mid-engine well towards the rear. Despite the very low bonnet, it goes without saying that the Lamborghini Estoque fulfils all safety regulations and pedestrian protection standards.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Taut muscles</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The bonnet of the Lamborghini Estoque makes the origins of the sheer power of this vehicle immediately apparent. The location of the engine is clearly evident through the distinct division created by two large air outlets and the additional emphasis of a central power area. Further air outlets are positioned both left and right in the wings, behind each of the front wheel arches.</em></p>
<p><em>Together, with the division of the bonnet, these elements add emphasis to the area above the wheels, framing the front end of the Lamborghini Estoque like a taut muscle. The permanent all-wheel drive that is typical for all Lamborghinis means that the 22 inch wheels, with their new five double-spoke design, also do their part in delivering power to the road. Here too, the Centro Stile has stuck firmly to the Lamborghini principle that form always follows function; after all, the ample cooling air flowing into the high-performance driveline also has to move quickly out of the vehicle.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Tremendous tension along the flanks</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Its proportions guarantee the Lamborghini Estoque an impressive appearance. The skilled sectioning along the flanks of the vehicle gives the body shell an incredibly muscular form. Beneath the flat surfaces of the bonnet, the incredibly powerful shoulder line, a further side line rising slightly towards the rear and, finally, the equally distinct sill line all add emphasis to the flow of power from the engine to the magnificent 23 inch rear wheels. The masculine profile is completed by the negative return of the rear end. This adds further tension to the form of the Lamborghini Estoque &#8211; the whole car looks coiled and ready to pounce at the drop of a hat. These sharp lines frame a fascinating interplay of surfaces across convex and concave curvatures. The Lamborghini Estoque clearly displays the design language of the Centro Stile Lamborghini with a distinctive elegance.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Powerful elegance at the rear</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The flow of form is brought to its conclusion by the broad, even expanse of the rear end. The horizontal split created by the flat LED light clusters and the large, mesh-covered lower air outlets bring additional emphasis to this breadth. A narrow, slightly slanted &#8220;frame&#8221; panel surrounds the whole rear aspect and further highlights its powerful elegance.</em></p>
<p><em>Precise details, such as the hexagonal fuel caps on both sides of the vehicle, characterize the depth of the design language. The front headlamps, featuring bi-Xenon and LED technology, carry forward a theme evident in both the Lamborghini Reventón and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 &#8211; the Y-shape of the daytime running lights. The tiny green/white/red flag adorning the front wings discreetly highlights that an automotive statement as uncompromising as this one can come from only one country on Earth &#8211; from Italy.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>The interior</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Despite its extremely low profile, the Lamborghini Estoque offers a surprisingly generous feeling of spaciousness. The length of the interior facilitates a relaxed seating position for all four individual seats and plays a significant role in the supreme comfort of this super sports sedan over long distances. The interior reflects elements of the exterior design language, also evident in the cabin of the Lamborghini Estoque &#8211; in the distinctive lines of the door panels or in the swooping V-shape applied to the cockpit, reflecting the form used on the front end and on the bonnet.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Luxurious interior</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The dominant material of the interior is highest-quality Nappa leather. The four individual seats boast sporting contours, supreme long-distance comfort and extensive electrical positioning options.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Cockpit with large-screen display</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The cockpit presents the driver with a large-area LCD screen displaying vehicle and route information. A range of presentation formats are available for selection depending on personal preference &#8211; a distinctive classical layout with circular instrument dials, or an innovative digital display. A top-class audio installation and a sophisticated rear seat entertainment system round off the equipment.</em></p>
<p><em>Like the interior, the luggage compartment of the Lamborghini Estoque is also surprisingly spacious. Despite the low-profile rear end, it has plenty room for several golf bags or pieces of luggage.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Production feasibility</em></strong></p>
<p><em>As a pure concept car, the Lamborghini Estoque is a design exercise and a further indication of the innovative power of the Lamborghini brand. Yet, it is based on a feasible technical concept that offers a whole range of fascinating alternatives for the body shell and driveline.</em></p>
<p><em>Just like the brand&#8217;s super sports cars, the Lamborghini Estoque uses a mid-engine layout. However, the high-performance driveline used here is not located in front of the rear axle, as in the Gallardo and Murciélago or in the Reventón, but behind the front axle. This front mid-engine concept, with the driveline set way back, facilitates balanced weight distribution and a centre of gravity close to the vehicle&#8217;s vertical axis. Both ensure the unparalleled agility and handling precision of a mid-engine vehicle.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Reserves in every situation</em></strong></p>
<p><em>Like all contemporary Lamborghini models, the Lamborghini Estoque is also equipped with permanent all-wheel drive. It distributes the engine power to all four wheels, thus making for superior traction in all driving situations, as well as providing extra reserves for extremely sporty driving and for challenging weather conditions.</em></p>
<p><em>A range of drivelines is conceivable for the Lamborghini Estoque. This is headed up by the highly-acclaimed Lamborghini ten-cylinder from the Gallardo LP 560-4 &#8211; with more torque and higher revving than virtually any other engine. A complementary alternative could be a turbocharged eight-cylinder derived from this V10. A particularly economical, but nevertheless dynamic, variation would be a V8 with a hybrid module or an extremely high-performance TDI.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>The Centro Stile Lamborghini</em></strong></p>
<p><em>With the Estoque, the Centro Stile Lamborghini has created further proof of its creativity and attention to detail. The design centre that opened in 2004 is a studio of creatives, designers and model makers that combines the culture and the spirit of the brand with the power of innovation and of creating a new aesthetic. The Centro Stile Lamborghini is part of the best tradition of Italian vehicle design, and is leading the way forward with the latest in working techniques.</em></p>
<p><em>The Centro Stile is located in a 2,900 sq. meter (31,215 sq. feet) facility, where it occupies two interconnected floors. The generously proportioned design studio is equipped with two full-size surface tables and their associated tooling and measuring equipment, while further areas house the latest in computer workstations for the creative experts and a workshop for the model makers. The Centro Stile is also connected directly to the neighbouring Ufficio Tecnico &#8211; the direct link to Lamborghini&#8217;s development department ensures the rapid realization of ideas. Speed is a key aspect for Lamborghini, for both its cars and its working processes; the Reventón was created in the record time of less than one year.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>In-house creativity and implementation</em></strong></p>
<p><em>From the first sketches made either on paper or using the three-dimensional computer program, through 1:10 or 1:4 scale models to full-size models, the complete design process is organized within small, fast-moving teams.</em></p>
<p><em>Since it was founded, the Lamborghini brand has been bringing innovative design trends to the rarefied atmosphere of the world&#8217;s most desirable automobiles, and producing vehicles with absolutely unmistakable character. Models such as the Miura and the Countach were way ahead of their time, but quickly attained the status of timeless classics. From their first appearance, every new Lamborghini is destined to become a legend and sought-after collectors&#8217; item.</em></p>
<p><em>With the current Murciélago and Gallardo, Lamborghini has once again perfected an innovative design language. The exterior proportions provide an indication of the power and dynamic character of the driveline. Crisply-defined edges, precision lines and clean surfaces result in a design that is reduced to its very essence.</em></p>
<p><em>Every element is designed precisely in accordance with its function. Examples of this on the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 include the movable cooling air intakes and the asymmetric sills; on the left side of the vehicle, the air intake is significantly larger to accommodate the flow of fresh air to the oil cooler.</em></p>
<p><strong><em>Clear lines, perfect details</em></strong></p>
<p><em>The unmistakable form of a Lamborghini is something that always speaks for itself: ornamentation or decoration of any kind has absolutely no place here. This firmly places the current models that bear the sign of the bull within the best traditions of their brand and of 60s and 70s Italian vehicle design. The sports cars of that time were acclaimed for their perfect proportions and for their objective, functional elegance that required no embellishment of any kind.</em></p>
<p><em>The purist execution of the lines is complemented perfectly by the passion for detail possessed by the designers in Sant&#8217; Agata Bolognese. <p>Mercedes-Benz CLS&#8217;nin nefis çizgileri, Maserati Quattroporte&#8217;nin olağanüstü sesli V8&#8242;i ve bu modellerin satış başarıları Porsche Panamera ve Aston Martin Rapide gibi modellerin de hazırlanmasına sebep olmuştu. Porsche&#8217;nin büyük bir ihtimalle Paris&#8217;te sergileyeceği yeni Panamera sedanının tüm hazırlık aşamalarını internetten izlemiştik. Anlaşılan Lamborghini de 4 kapılı pazardan pay almak istiyor. Urus projesini bu kadar gizli yürütebildikleri için kendilerini tebrik etmek lazım. Umarım aynı gruptan Audi&#8217;nin A7&#8242;sinde de Urus&#8217;un şasisini kullanmazlar. Daha önemlisi, umarım Lamborghini de SUV üretme saçmalığına katılmaz.</p>
