<p>Maranello, 21st January 2011 – The official Prancing Horse web site, Ferrari.com, has revealed the first photographs of the new FF, the company&#8217;s most powerful, versatile four-seater ever, as well as its first ever four-wheel drive car.</p>
<p>The FF &#8211; an acronym for Ferrari Four (four seats and four-wheel drive) &#8211; ushers in an entirely new GT sports car concept. A decisive break with the past, the new car represents not so much an evolution as a true revolution.</p>
<p>This new V12 melds to an unprecedented level an extremely sporty, high-performance character with incredible versatility, superb comfort and sophisticated elegance, guaranteeing both driver and passengers an absolutely unique driving experience.</p>
<p>Designed by Pininfarina, the shape and proportions perfectly interpret the FF&#8217;s harmonious blend of sporting DNA and extraordinary usability.</p>
<p>The FF features the company&#8217;s first ever four-wheel drive system. Ferrari&#8217;s exclusive, patented 4RM (four-wheel drive) weighs 50 per cent less than a conventional four-wheel drive system, maintaining perfect weight distribution (53 per cent over the rear axle). Completely integrated with the car&#8217;s electronic dynamic control systems, the four-wheel drive technology delivers record levels of performance on all terrains and in all conditions via continuous and intelligent predictive torque distribution to all four wheels. The FF is also equipped with the latest magnetorheological damping system (SCM3), as well as the most recent development in carbon-ceramic brakes from Brembo.</p>
<p>Exceptional performance levels come courtesy of the new 6,262 cc direct injection engine which develops 660 CV at 8,000 rpm. In tandem with its transaxle dual-clutch F1 gearbox, stunning acceleration figures (0-100 km/h in 3.7 sec.) are guaranteed. The new model&#8217;s class-leading weight-to-power ratio of 2.7 kg/CV, along with its ideal weight distribution, ensures exceptionally responsive handling. The result is that owners will be able to enjoy the FF&#8217;s prowess over a wide range of uses: city driving, on low grip or snow-covered surfaces and on the track. Performance aside, Maranello&#8217;s latest model also offers standards of passenger space, comfort, in-car spec and equipment previously unheard of in such a high-performance car. It can comfortably accommodate four people and their luggage, thanks to the best cabin space and boot capacity (450 litres extendable to 800) figures in its category, including four-door cars.</p>
<p>A vast array of personalisation options and accessories has been developed for the FF. These include six model-specific exterior colours and sumptuous interior trim incorporating specially selected and treated aniline leather.</p>
<p>The FF, which will make its official debut in occasion of the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, is presented today with the first three photos from a dedicated shoot by Giovanni Gastel.</p>

Maranello, 8 April – Now available on www.ferrari.com are the first  photos and information on the new 599 GTO, an extreme V12 berlinetta  developed to a specific performance-oriented brief. The 599 GTO is, in  fact, the company&#8217;s fastest ever road car. It is an exclusive limited  edition special which, in true Ferrari tradition, is a completely new  concept, albeit inspired by a production car. In fact the 599 GTO is  based on the 599XX, the advanced experimental track car, and can be  considered almost a road-going version.</p>
<p>The 599 GTO is reserved for just 599 clients who seek the maximum  expression of high-performance driving. The 599 GTO benefits directly  from the technological transfer from racing and set a record lap time at  Fiorano in 1&#8217;24&#8243;.</p>
<p>The Fiorano lap time provides just one indication of the potential of  this car. Just as significant are the technical specifications – 670 hp  in a 1495kg car represents a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.23 kg/hp,  and ensures a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.35&#8243; as well as a  top speed of over 335 km/h.</p>
<p>Fundamental to the GTO&#8217;s performance is the innovative approach to  chassis development which, for the first time on a production car, saw  the integration between a handling set-up tuned for a level of  responsiveness that is close to the limit and highly sophisticated  electronic controls. The result is the almost complete absence of  understeer and a truly communicative chassis.</p>
<p>As is Ferrari&#8217;s policy, every new Ferrari features new solutions for a  road car. Thus the 599 GTO is equipped with the latest,  second-generation carbon-ceramic brakes which are lighter and offer  better performance, new aerodynamic innovations, such as the wheel  doughnuts which increase aerodynamic efficiency as well as improve brake  cooling, and the Supersport tyres developed by Michelin include a wider  front tyre for greater roadholding. The driver-car interface is also  new with the adoption of the Virtual Race Engineer (VRE) which provides  the driver with instantaneous information on performance.</p>
<p>The 599 GTO&#8217;s more aggressive character is also apparent in a number of  styling elements that recall the 599XX and from the powerful sound of  the V12.</p>
<p>The GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) moniker instantly calls to mind two  Ferraris that have entered the collective imagination as symbols of  performance. After the 1962 250 GTO, which swept the boards in GT racing  categories in the 1960s and is now a highly prized collector&#8217;s car,  came the iconic 1984 GTO, which basically invented the entire modern  supercar genre.</p>
<p>The web special includes photos, videos and interviews on the new car,  while an exclusive preview for a small number of Ferrari clients will be  held on April 14th at the Military Academy in Modena. The public debut  of the 599 GTO will instead be at the Beijing International Motor Show  at the end of April.</p>
<p><strong>599 GTO TECHNICAL CONTENTS</strong></p>
<p>ENGINE AND GEARBOX</p>
<p>The 599 GTO&#8217;s engine is directly derived from the 599XX unit  implementing, however, the necessary modifications for road-going  homologation. It thus complies with Euro 5 and LEV 2 standards. The 5999  cc 65-degree V12 engine punches out 670 CV at 8250 rpm with maximum  torque of 620 Nm at 6500 rpm and there is a smooth, constant rush of  power all the way to the redline with no loss of flexibility even at  medium and low revs. This result was obtained by working on the  fluid-dynamics and components to reduce internal friction and by  adopting, amongst other things, the 599XX&#8217;s redesigned crankshaft. The  car also has a racing-type intake system with a new manifold with  diffuser-type intake geometry and short inlet tracts designed to improve  power delivery at high revs and reduce losses. To maximise volumetric  efficiency per cylinder, a connection between the two plenums at the  front compensates for variations in the volume. This is how the  engineers managed to achieve maximum performance at high engine speeds.  The engine sound inside the car is carefully controlled to balance the  intake sound with the exhaust, which features a 599XX-derived 6-into-1  manifold.</p>
<p>The 599 GTO features the same, lower 60 ms shift times and the  possibility to make multiple downshifts as on the 599XX.</p>
<p>VEHICLE DYNAMICS</p>
<p>One of the most significant innovations on the 599 GTO is the close  correlation between the chassis set-up, which is close to the handling  limit, and the input from the electronic controls which are developed to  increase overall levels of performance.</p>
<p>Since the very earliest states of the two cars&#8217; development, Maranello&#8217;s  engineers worked to ensure that these two areas of the car would be  seamlessly integrated thus pushing responsiveness to the limit. The  result is, of course, superlative driving involvement as well as faster  lap times. Apart from new springs and a stiffer rear anti-roll bar, the  car also features a second generation magnetorheological suspension  control system (SCM2). The suspension works in tandem with the VDC  (Vehicle Dynamic Control) and latest-generation F1-Trac traction  control. This makes the car extremely responsive to driver inputs &#8211;  thanks in part to the adoption of a very direct steering ratio – but  also very stable under braking, sharper on turn-in, more precise in  cornering and quicker out of corners.</p>
<p>WEIGHT REDUCTION</p>
<p>The 599 GTO inherits much of the development work &#8211; using the same  principles as employed in F1 &#8211; that went into making the 599XX such an  extreme performance car. Reducing weight was a vital objective and the  result was the widespread use of composites and components manufactured  with technologies more akin to racing specifications. The areas involved  include the bodywork and greenhouse (with thinner gauge aluminium and  thinner glass), the brakes, transmission and exhaust system. The result  is a dry weight of 1495 kg and a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.23  kg/hp, a very significant figure that underlines the GTO&#8217;s performance  potential.</p>
<p>AERODYNAMICS</p>
<p>The 599 GTO&#8217;s aerodynamics have benefited significantly from Ferrari  engineers&#8217; experience in F1 and with the 599XX which allowed downforce  to be greatly increased without impacting on drag. Thanks to solutions  transferred from the track car to the road-going version, the GTO  generates downforce of 144 kg at 200 km/h. The entire car was honed,  including the front, the sides, the flat underbody and cooling flows. In  the latter instance, the GTO can count on improved ducting to the brake  discs and pads, and the adoption of wheel doughnuts – a disc positioned  outside the brake disc that ensure that hot air exiting the wheelarch  stays as close to the body of the car as possible to reduce drag.</p>
<p>Work on the nose of the car was aimed at reducing the width of the wake  generated by the front and thus reduce drag. The front spoiler  incorporates a separate lower wing that increases downforce at the front  of the car and increases the flow of cooling air to the oil radiator.  On the flanks there&#8217;s a new sill design with a more pronounced leading  edge that improves the efficiency of the central section of the  underbody. The underbody itself incorporates a new, lower front section  with diffusers ahead of the front wheels to optimise downforce, and a  new double-curve rear diffuser.</p>
<p>WHEEL RIMS AND TYRES</p>
<p>Here the difference in size between the front and rear tyres has been  changed. The GTO&#8217;s front tyres are now 285/30 on a 9.5&#8221; channel with  315/35 on an 11.5&#8221; channel at the rear. The 599 GTO has 20&#8221; rims. Roll  rigidity is greater at the rear to minimise understeer. These solutions  guarantee improved lateral grip and quicker turn in.</p>
<p>BRAKES</p>
<p>The new CCM2 braking system is lighter and even more consistent in high  performance situations. Its consistent coefficient of attrition meant  that the ABS could be calibrated to a particularly high performance  level, further reducing lap times, thanks to improved deceleration and  shorter stopping distances. In fact, the 599 GTO boasts an excellent 100  to 0 km/h braking distance of just 32.5 metres. As well as their role  in improving aerodynamics, the Formula 1-derived wheel doughnuts also  improve braking efficiency by optimising brake cooling.</p>
<p>CAR-DRIVER INTERFACE</p>
<p>The car-driver interface was designed to maximise car and driver  performance with a layout of the main commands that ensures absolute  efficiency and minimum distraction. The Racing manettino also puts the  emphasis firmly on sporty, track-specific driving settings by offering  the driver full choice with regard to the electronic control parameters.  The ICE position on the 599 GTB Fiorano has been replaced by CT-Off  (traction control off). The GTO is also fitted with bespoke, longer  carbon-fibre F1 paddles for easier use in high-speed driving. In  addition the GTO also features the Virtual Race Engineer, a system that  monitors the status of the car and gives the driver immediate visibility  of vehicle performance.</p>

<p>Dün Scuderia Ferrari takım direktörü Stefano Domenicali ve Ferrari yönetim kurulu başkanı Luca di Montezemolo ile bir toplantı yapan Schumi, Massa&#8217;nın sağlığının hızla düzeldiğini ve asıl öncemli olanın bu olduğunu belirttikten sonra özel bir eğitim programından geçerek yeniden yarışlara dönerek Massa&#8217;nın yokluğunda Ferrari için yarışacağını da konfirme etti.</p>
<p>Bu sezon Top Gear&#8217;ın ilk bölümünde gizemli Stig karakteri olarak ifşa edilerek muhteşem bir şakaya Top Gear ekibiyle imza atan Schumacher, kendi Ferrari FXX&#8217;iyle Top Gear pistinde inanılmaz bir rekora da imza atmıştı. Araç düz (slick) lastiklere sahip olduğu için bu tur zamanı resmi listeden daha sonra çıkarılsa da, Schumacher hala ne kadar iyi olduğunu gösterme fırsatı yakalamıştı.</p>

<p>Ferrari 458 Italia&#8217;nın tasarımını çok cesur ve güzel buldum. Ferrari eğilim takip etmeyip kendi çizgisinden giderek spor otomobillerde kontrolünü elinde tuttuğu çıtayı iyice yukarı çekmiş. This is very much the case with the Ferrari 458 Italia, which is a massive leap forward from the company&#8217;s previous mid-rear engined sports cars.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The new model is a synthesis of style, creative flair, passion and cutting-edge technology, characteristics for which Italy as a nation is well-known. For this reason Ferrari chose to add the name of its homeland to the traditional figure representing the displacement and number of cylinders.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The Ferrari 458 Italia is a completely new car from every point of view: engine, design, aerodynamics, handling, instrumentation and ergonomics, just to name a few.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">A two-seater berlinetta, the Ferrari 458 Italia, as is now traditional for all Ferrari&#8217;s road-going cars, benefits hugely from the company&#8217;s Formula 1 experience. This is particularly evident in the speed and precision with which the car responds to driver inputs and in the attention focused on reducing internal friction in the engine for lower fuel consumption than the F430, despite the fact that both overall displacement and power have increased. However, Ferrari&#8217;s track experience makes its presence felt in the 458 Italia not only in terms of pure technological transfer but also on a more emotional level, because of the strong emphasis on creating an almost symbiotic relationship between driver and car. The 458 Italia features an innovative driving environment with a new kind of steering wheel and dashboard that is the direct result of racing practice. Once again input from Michael Schumacher &#8211; who was involved from the very start of the 458 Italia project &#8211; played an invaluable part.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The Ferrari 458 Italia&#8217;s Pininfarina design provides further evidence of the complete departure from the past that this new car hails. The Ferrari 458 Italia has a compact, aerodynamic shape, underscoring the concepts of simplicity, efficiency and lightness that inspired the project. As with every Ferrari, the car&#8217;s styling has been very heavily influenced by the requirements for aerodynamic efficiency, as can be seen from the downforce of 140 kg at 200km/h generated by the new model. The front features a single opening for the front grille and side air intakes, with aerodynamic sections and profiles designed to direct air to the coolant radiators and the new flat underbody. The nose also sports small aeroelastic winglets which generate downforce and, as speed rises, deform to reduce the section of the radiator inlets and cut drag.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The new 4499 cc V8 is the first Ferrari direct injection engine to be mid-rear mounted. It has a very low piston compression height typical of racing engines which contributed to achieving its compression ratio of 12.5:1. Equipped with the traditional flat-plane crankshaft, the engine delivers 570 CV at 9000 rpm and, with an outstanding power output of 127 CV/litre, sets a new benchmark not only for the whole Ferrari range and the history of company, but also for the entire market segment. Maximum torque is 540 Nm at 6000 rpm, over 80 per cent of which is available from 3250 rpm. Specific torque is a record 120 Nm/litre. However, what is truly extraordinary is the amount of torque available while still maintaining high levels of power at low revs.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The car&#8217;s soundtrack is also typical Ferrari, with an exciting, powerful growl emerging from the engine before it channels through to the exhaust&#8217;s three rear tailpipes.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The 458 Italia is equipped with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which increases performance whilst providing very smooth shifts even at full throttle. The engineers have developed specific, sportier gear ratios to match the power and torque curves of the new V8, guaranteeing high torque even at lower engine speeds and allowing the car to reach its maximum speed in top gear.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">This new Ferrari is also a major leap forward when it comes to cutting emissions. Despite the fact that the new engine is significantly more powerful than the V8s that preceded it, the Ferrari 458 Italia produces just 320 g/km of CO2 and fuel consumption is 13.7 l/100 km (combined cycle), the best in the entire segment.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The engineers also focused on weight reduction during the design phase for similar reasons. Consequently, the Ferrari 458 Italia has a dry weight of 1380 kg with a power-to-weight ratio of 2.42 kg/CV. Weight distribution is also optimal with 58 per cent over the rear axle. The result of the engineers&#8217; endeavours can be summed up in to two simple statistics which together perfectly encapsulate the Ferrari 458 Italia&#8217;s exceptional performance: 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed in excess of 325 km/h.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">For the new chassis, once more in aluminium, Maranello&#8217;s engineers incorporated various types of advanced alloys along with aerospace industry-derived manufacturing and bonding techniques.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">With regard to vehicle dynamics, the Ferrari 458 Italia&#8217;s suspension features twin wishbones at the front and a multi-link set-up at the rear tuned for maximum roadholding and superlative handling. Along with a more direct steering ratio, the 458 Italia thus offers extremely rapid turn-in and body control whilst maintaining superior ride comfort.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The integration of the E-Diff and F1-Trac (now controlled by the same ECU) and their respective mappings is even greater, resulting in a 32 per cent increase in longitudinal acceleration out of corners compared to previous models. The evolution of the control logic, with even faster and more accurate calculation of levels of grip, ensures even greater roadholding, better handling and ease of control on the limit.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The same ECU also governs the high-performance ABS, providing even more precise control over the logic threshold and greater efficiency. The brakes also feature a prefill function whereby the pistons in the callipers move the pads into contact with the discs on lift off to minimise delay in the brakes being applied. This combined with the ABS has cut the 100-0 km/h braking distance to a mere 32.5 metres.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">The Ferrari 458 Italia&#8217;s interior is another area of the car that exalts its sporty personality. The driver is welcomed by a new layout and a revolutionary ergonomic interface where the main controls are all clustered on the steering wheel.</span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">With the Ferrari 458 Italia, Maranello has brought a highly distinctive new car to its 8-cylinder range. Sonuçta şasi üzerinde montaj yaparak bir spor otomobil yapmak gerçekten keyifliydi ama sadece 10 dakika sürdü. 2,5 dakikası 2 jant setinden mat olanı mı, yoksa parlak olanı mu kullanacağım konusunda karar vermek içindi. Parlak olanları seçtim.</p>

<p>Volvo &#8211; The Game: the exciting new challenge for everyone who enjoys racing games is being released today. It features all of Volvo&#8217;s racing legends over the years and also introduces a new star: the Volvo S60 Concept. Just download the game, select your favourite Volvo and test your skills on one of the two highly authentic tracks. The game has been developed together with SimBin Studios.</p>
<p>One person who will definitely play Volvo &#8211; The Game is Swedish racing star Robert Dahlgren. He has achieved immense success for Volvo in the STCC &#8211; the Swedish Touring Car Championship &#8211; since 2004. His current racing car is a Volvo C30.</p>
<p>Like most other professional racing drivers, Robert Dahlgren uses virtual racing games to train when the racing season comes to an end. &#8220;Playing racing games helps me train my ability to concentrate and to maintain my level of concentration over many laps,&#8221; says Robert Dahlgren.</p>
<p><strong>Volvo &#8211; The Game features six different cars and the race is run on two authentically reproduced racing tracks.</strong></p>
<p>The six racing cars are the stars. The lead roles are played by the Volvo S60 Concept, the Volvo C30 that is currently competing in the STCC, the previous Volvo S60 that also competed in the STCC, the Volvo S40 that notched up many notable successes in the BTCC (the British Touring Car Championship), the Volvo 850- the estate car that became a legend in the BTCC &#8211; and finally a true racing classic from the past, a Volvo 240 Turbo Group A.</p>
<p>The two tracks are the Gothenburg Eco Drive Arena in Göteborg, Sweden and Chayka outside Kiev in the Ukraine. Volvo &#8211; The Game is the only virtual racing game in the world to feature the Ukrainian racing track.</p>
<p><strong>STCC game inspired</strong><br />
The idea behind Volvo &#8211; The Game was born in autumn 2008 when the STCC game was released. The STCC game inspired Pontus Berger, who at the time worked with licensing issues at Volvo Cars. He contacted SimBin. His question was simple: &#8220;Can you make a PC-based racing game that has broad public appeal, features only Volvo models and introduces our new concept car, the Volvo S60 Concept?&#8221;</p>
<p>A team of 15-20 people worked together to create Volvo &#8211; The Game. The aim was to make it as realistic as possible. The game developers have invested huge numbers of hours in getting all the details exactly right. Just &#8220;building&#8221; a car for a racing game takes about one month.</p>
<p>True to form, the six cars each have different driving characteristics. It&#8217;s almost like getting behind the wheel, which is rather unusual in car games. The classic Volvo 240 Turbo Group A, for instance, has entirely different driving characteristics compared with the latest newcomer, the Volvo S60 Concept.</p>
<p>In order to recreate the older cars&#8217; interiors as authentically as possible, the designers visited the Volvo Museum to study the former racing legends.</p>
<p>&#8220;In terms of audio quality we&#8217;re also remarkably close to reality. One example is the S40. For that car we pulled one of the race cars out of hibernation last autumn and gave it a thorough full-speed workout, recording the engine sound straight from the racing track,&#8221; explains Magnus Ling Executive Vice President at SimBin.</p>
<p>The two racing tracks have been reproduced with faithful detail and immense precision. It takes about 1000 hours to create a virtual racing track. Even the kerbs alongside the track have to be of exactly the right height. Many of the people playing the game are experts &#8211; and they are very particular about the tiniest details.</p>
<p>Robert Dahlgren is convinced that his own Volvo C30 will be the best car in the game. But he will of course be testing them all, and one of the contenders seems to be exerting a particular attraction.</p>
<p>&#8220;How cool is it going to be to race the Volvo 240 on the Gothenburg track! When I was growing up, all my friends were driving 240s. But not me. I was out competing. Now I finally get the chance,&#8221; says an eager Robert Dahlgren.</p>
<p><strong>Authentic feel</strong><br />
The aim of the game is to reach out to a broad public. A seven-year-old can have fun with it but in order to truly get the most out of the game&#8217;s many advanced features, players really should be a few years older.</p>
<p>For the most authentic feel, Volvo &#8211; The Game should be played with a steering wheel and pedals connected to the computer. However, it is also possible to operate the car via the PC&#8217;s keyboard or with a game-pad. The game offers a choice of skill levels: &#8220;novice with all the driver assistance technology activated such as ABS brakes, &#8220;semi-pro&#8221;, and finally &#8220;pro&#8221; where there is no assistance whatsoever.</p>
<p>It is possible to select the Volvo of your choice, compete against your own best times and have the track all to yourself. Or you can compete against up to eleven computer-controlled competitors. There are several alternative settings for graphics and sound. For instance, the star, the Volvo S60 Concept, will be available in two versions &#8211; &#8220;natural&#8221; and racing.</p>
