<div>The new Lexus CT 200h is the first full hybrid vehicle to be launched in  the premium compact segment. Entering production in late 2010 and set  for sale worldwide, the full hybrid model will provide a new gateway to  the Lexus range and attract new, younger customers to the brand.</p>
<p>The CT 200h was designed and developed with the European market in mind.  Lexus&#8217;s first five-door compact car, its size, packaging, full hybrid  technology and low emissions fully address the requirements of  discerning, environment-conscious customers in a key market sector. At  the same time, it does not compromise the quality, refinement and  driving pleasure that are the hallmarks of every Lexus.</p>
<p><strong>Exterior and interior design</strong></p>
<p>The production-ready CT 200h retains strong visual links to the LF-Ch  concept Lexus unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. Its styling  marks a powerful evolution of Lexus&#8217;s L-finesse design philosophy with a  distinctive, sharp-edged look that sets it apart from its premium  compact rivals.</p>
<p>The exterior is styled for maximum aerodynamic efficiency and minimum  wind noise. The strong front grille, directly referencing the LF-Ch  concept sits over a full-width bumper and air dam. The headlamp units,  positioned higher than the grille (a signature feature of L-finesse  design), incorporate LED daytime running lights.</p>
<p>In profile, the steeply raked windscreen, long, flowing roofline and  Lexus slingshot window graphic combine to create an elegant and  distinctive silhouette. The front and rear corners have been pulled in  tight and the wings are styled to improve airflow down the sides of the  vehicle.</p>
<p>At the rear, the trailing edge of the roof overhangs a wide, wraparound  rear window to create a seamless, integrated spoiler. A pronounced step  in the tailgate section flows from the shoulders of the rear wheelarches  and is anchored by a tail lamp design that displays the L-shaped motif  that Lexus first introduced on the current LS model.</p>
<p>The interior combines superior ergonomics with extensive use of metallic  finishes and dark, soft-touch surfaces.</p>
<p>Lexus has retained the asymmetrical dashboard design seen in the LF-Ch  show car. Based on the Future Lexus Interior concept, the dashboard is  split into an upper Display Zone, with an eight-inch LCD multi-display  screen; and a lower Operation Zone, with the shift lever and other  controls such as Lexus&#8217;s Remote Touch multi-function controller.</p>
<p>In keeping with the car&#8217;s performance, the driving position is set low,  with a highly supportive driver&#8217;s seat. The instrument binnacle houses  large, twin dials; in SPORT mode, the hybrid indicator in the binnacle  functions as a tachometer and the ambient lighting turns from blue to  red. The two-mode switch ring and a spotlight in the centre cluster also  light up in red, changing the whole atmosphere of the cabin.</p>
<p>In spite of its compact, efficient design, the CT 200h offers a roomy  interior. The 2,600mm wheelbase allows for front and rear passenger  accommodation that is among the most spacious in the segment. Luggage  capacity is 345 litres, increasing to 700 litres with the rear seats  lowered.</p>
<p><strong>Lexus Hybrid Drive</strong></p>
<p>The Lexus Hybrid Drive system in the CT 200h combines a 1.8-litre VVT-i  petrol engine with a powerful electric motor. Drivers have the choice of  four selectable drive modes: ECO and NORMAL place the emphasis on  efficiency and comfort, while SPORT focuses on dynamic performance.</p>
<p>Unlike mild hybrid systems used by other manufacturers, the CT 200h also  has an EV (electric vehicle) mode that allows for ultra-quiet running  on the electric motor alone, resulting in zero fuel consumption and CO2,  NOx and particulate emissions. The car is capable of running in EV mode  for up to 1.2 miles at speeds up to 28mph.<br />
<strong><br />
Chassis and suspension</strong></p>
<p>The CT 200h is built on a new platform with a dedicated double wishbone  and trailing arm rear suspension system. It has been developed  specifically to combine the ride comfort expected of a Lexus with  superior driving involvement and handling agility.</p>
<p>Several elements in the MacPherson strut design have been exclusively  developed for the mode, including the coil springs and shock absorbers,  and a new front anti-roll bar has been designed to deliver improved roll  rigidity.</p>
<p>The double wishbone rear suspension is exclusive to the CT 200h and  incorporates a lightweight trailing arm. The springs and shocks are  positioned separately to minimise intrusion into the loadspace floor.</p>

<p>Mercedes standında F800&#8242;ün yanında Mercedes-Benz otomobil grubu başkanı <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dieter_Zetsche">Dieter Zetsche</a>&#8216;yi demeç verirken görünce hemen fotoğrafını çektim. Herr Zetsche&#8217;nin İstanbul doğumlu olduğunu ise o sırada bilmiyordum. bu konseptin görünüşü kadar ilginç ve üretime hazır görünen bir başka yeniliği de, B sütunu olmayan tasarımıydı. Aracın ön kapıları alıştığımız şekilde açılırken, arka kapılar sürgülü bir mekanizma ile açılıyor.</p>

<p>F800 konseptinin hemen yanında, bu hafta sonu Bahreyn Grand Prix&#8217;si ile başlayacak olan Formula 1 sezonunun yeni güvenlik aracı olacak olan Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Safety Car versiyonu duruyordu. AMG&#8217;nin 8 silindirli motorunu pistte F1 araçlarının önünde duymak için sabırsızlanıyorum doğrusu.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.carluvr.com/index.php/2009/09/14/mercedes-benz-sls-amg/">SLS AMG</a>&#8216;ye binme fırsatı da yakaladım. 2009 yılının en önemli spor modellerinden olan aracın içinin martı kanat kapalıyken bu kadar basık olacağını tahmin etmezdim. Tüm konforlu görüntüsüne rağmen safkan bir spor otomobil SLS. Dış görüntüsünün, özellikle de ön yüzünün beni tatmin etmeyen tasarımına rağmen aracın kendine has bir cazibesi olduğunu da kabul etmem gerekir.</p>

<p>Citroen&#8217;in 2010 Cenevre Fuarı&#8217;ndaki en büyük haberi DS High Rider adıyla tanıttığı yeni kompakt modelinin habercisi olan konsept oldu. Özetle, Daha önce <a href="http://www.carluvr.com/index.php/2010/02/13/citroen-ds-high-rider-concept/">şurada</a> bahsettiğim DS High Rider oldukça çarpıcı bir küçük otomobil ve sergilenişi de buna yakışır şekildeydi. Standın arkasında, adeta gizlenmiş bir noktada bulunan aracı görmek için dibe kadar yürümeniz gerekiyordu. Bu da gizlilik hissini arttırıyordu.</p>

<p>A compact city car, REVOLTE sidesteps the difficulties of dense urban traffic with a totally new approach to small car design. This bold, chic car opts for luxury with a touch of cheek, technology and glamour, power and verve.</p>
<p>With its iridescent, glossy colours, silky smooth textiles, and subtle, sophisticated materials, REVOLTE places passengers in a feminine, cosmetic setting, of bold and elegant design.</p>
<p>Spirited and lively, REVOLTE also has an eye on the future with its rechargeable hybrid drivetrain. This ecologically sound technology makes maximum use of electric mode and also contributes to the concept car’s agility.</p>
<p>Gloom, conformism and dullness are just not in REVOLTE’s vocabulary. Its personality and qualities lend colour to the city and to the world of luxury.</p>
<p>More broadly, REVOLTE reflects a concern with topical issues. Increasing urbanisation, new means of communication and the growing variety of mobility solutions show that we can expect the use of small cars to develop considerably. Mirroring changing social trends and lifestyles, small cars are taking on a new status and expanding their scope of action. Whether as economical cars, second cars, liaison vehicles or fashion accessories, small cars are attention-pullers that dare to be different. They offer particularly fertile ground for progress in automotive technology.</p>
<p>CITROËN has long been a key player in the segment of small cars and has made them a preferred medium of expression. The latest events at the Marque are once more turning the spotlight on the small-car segment, with the launches of the new C3 and DS3.</p>
<p><strong>REVOLTE, superbly transgressive, clearly distinctive</strong></p>
<p>With its forceful lines and compact dimensions, REVOLTE could simply content itself with being a conventional small urban vehicle. Living up to its name, however, REVOLTE has set its sights higher. This concept car takes a highly contemporary approach. It shares some of the characteristics of executive vehicles but, at the same time, it transgresses the codes of the luxury world as we know them to include references that are far removed from those usually associated with cars.</p>
<p>Far more than just a small, functional vehicle, REVOLTE is a high-spirited performer. Its character is illustrated by its size (3.68 m long, 1.73 m wide and 1.35 m tall), and also by its bodywork which shuns the strict, austere codes of conventional luxury to drape itself in an intense and radiant shade of violent.</p>
<p>A low-set vehicle sitting squarely on its four wheels, REVOLTE makes light work of urban driving. An impression confirmed by its proportions.</p>
<p>With its strongly marked wheel arches, curving bonnet, and sculpted sides matching the line of the roof, REVOLTE is sleekly muscled and ready to pounce.</p>
<p>The rear-hinged doors provide easy access to the cabin, revealing a multicoloured interior that resembles a box of make-up. This unusual idea of associating bright colours with luxury styling reflects CITROËN’S bold creativity. Like the Hypnos concept car before it, REVOLTE reflects efforts to modernise the traditional notions of luxury.</p>
<p>The main materials featured in the cabin are: woven black leather, thick crimson velvet and gleaming aluminium. Out go conventional materials such as wood, and conventional colours. The onboard ambience of REVOLTE aims for a bold but luxurious feel.</p>
<p>REVOLTE also dares a three-seater cabin design, designed to resemble a lounge with seats similar to those found in home furnishings.</p>
<p>The passenger area includes a meridian sofa of contemporary design whose flowing lines cover the entire rear area of REVOLTE as well as the space usually reserved for the front passenger. The passenger sitting in this last space can stretch out his or her legs and enjoy the sensations offered by the cosy, luxurious ambience.</p>
<p>It is also possible to install a rearward-facing childseat.</p>
<p>REVOLTE thus boasts an architecture never before seen on this type of vehicle, with original and distinctive forms.</p>
<p><strong>REVOLTE: intelligent technology in action</strong></p>
<p>REVOLTE’s approach to innovation reflects its standpoint on luxury. The two are clearly indissociable. It is difficult to see whether the luxury of the vehicle inspired its high-tech content or if the technology is a medium for the luxurious design. REVOLTE immediately subjugates onlookers. Inside, technology and luxury form an ideal match, as illustrated by the following:</p>
<p>- the tactile screen of REVOLTE is encased in a crystal beam. The superbly crafted deep red crystals literally project the tactile screen into the cabin for an eloquent and original effect. This is not their only function, since they also serve to recycle air on board REVOLTE, like a respiratory system;</p>
<p>- chic and elegant, the rear bench of REVOLTE is not only a brilliant demonstration of style. It also houses the concept car’s electric batteries. This clever stowage solution improves the look of the cabin as a whole;</p>
<p>- on the outside, the bonnet of the car is covered in photovoltaic cells carrying out the electric functions linked to onboard comfort, including when the vehicle is stationary. This makes it unnecessary to use the resources of the electric batteries;</p>
<p>- at the front of REVOLTE, the observer’s eye is drawn to a curved glass shape underlining the generous lines of the grille. The backlit translucent bottom of the glass brings out the chevrons to original effect, subtly identifying the concept car as a CITROËN vehicle.</p>
<p>The powertrain of REVOLTE also shares the concept car philosophy, in terms of technology, sophistication and ecology.</p>
<p><strong>REVOLTE, a modern activist</strong></p>
<p>The powertrain of REVOLTE shatters the view traditionally associating “small” with “basic”. The contemporary, sophisticated character of REVOLTE is also reflected in its powertrain, which has the future clearly in its sights.</p>
<p>Striking a distinctive note in the automotive industry’s ongoing quest for “all-electric” solutions, REVOLTE features a solution that is both exciting and credible: a rechargeable hybrid drivetrain.</p>
<p>The characteristics and features of the drivetrain are as follows:</p>
<p>- a small-capacity conventional combustion engine combined with an electric motor, both able to drive the wheels;</p>
<p>- the ability to run in all-electric ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode, i.e. without emissions;</p>
<p>- a battery recharging function that supplies the electric motor.</p>
<p>This rechargeable hybrid drivetrain places the emphasis on “all-electric” running. As well as producing no CO<sub>2</sub> emissions, this mode delivers a quiet ride with a high level of driving comfort.</p>
<p>Even with this drive system, REVOLTE is not about to give in to boredom and indolence. Although we need not go into detail about its high top speed, this concept car is a lively performer with strong acceleration. REVOLTE respects the ecological constraints of urban driving in every way while also delivering an agile and spirited ride.</p>
<p><strong>REVOLTE turns conventions on their head! </strong><strong> </strong></p>
<p>CITROËN decided to take a bold approach to revolutionising the conventional image of small cars. The modern character of REVOLTE is therefore expressed through provocative styling inspired by one of its most illustrious ancestors: the 2CV. What car better embodies the small vehicle concept than that motoring icon, the 2CV?</p>

<p>With its compact dimensions – 3.85 m long, 1.87 m wide and 1.20 m high – Survolt reappropriates sports car styling cues to form an all-new and revolutionary concept.</p>

<p>At the front, the distinctive vehicle badge reigns elegantly above the large oval-shaped grille, its centre home to the striking double chevron. The car’s “look” – charming and profound at the same time – attracts and holds the viewer’s gaze with a promise of transgressions suddenly made possible. Its slim, horizontal head lamps, inspired by high-performance sports coupés, exert a magnetic appeal, while an LED light signature adds a contemporary, high-tech touch.</p>
<p>Survolt was made to gobble up the miles and glide over roads. Low-slung and sleek, it features strong contrasts between the voluptuous bonnet and generous, sculpted flanks, highlighted by emphatic wheel arches that promise performance and thrills.</p>
<p>Survolt’s air-slicing, flowing design is heavy on excitement and sensuality. It conveys agility, precision and vitality, barely containing a powerful, well-defined musculature under refined and luxurious wraps. The rear features the elegant light signature of Revolte together with a spoiler in an essential reference to motor sport.</p>
<p>Survolt is innovative and powerful but also knows how to turn on the charm, revealing its finest assets to catwalk in motor sports arenas. It features two-tone paint, hues of fuchsia and charcoal grey, and plays with materials and volumes. The curves shift from satin-smooth to shiny, breaking definitively with the classic masculine codes of the sports world. Survolt continues the work begun with Revolte by once again blending two universes with contrasting appearances. Survolt eschews decorum to create its own styling language.</p>
<p>The inclusion of materials such as chrome and aluminium inevitably recall the spheres of luxury goods and motor sport.  Survolt is a perfect combination between high fashion and car racing, a unique alliance with the same philosophy and the same cues as Revolte, namely performance, cutting-edge technology and excellence.</p>

<p>Survolt’s cockpit is designed like a floating cell, a glass setting held between chrome-finished roll bars like some magnificent piece of jewellery. The leitmotiv with Survolt is to transgress the conventions of the luxury world and combine them elegantly with those of the sporting world.</p>
<p>The cabin was imagined as a cross between two worlds that by their essence are opposed. This union begets an organic universe, both flowing and technical, from which the driver’s station springs forth. <p>The car’s generous glazed area brings light and a sensation of space, light years from that offered by today’s sports cars.</p>

<p>BMW&#8217;nin yeni 5 serisini yakından görünce, fotoğraflarını gördüğümdekine benzer karmaşık duygular içine girdim. Bir yandan oldukça rafine bir tasarımla kendi sınıfının başkanı olmaya aday bir araç görüyor ve BMW&#8217;yi takdir ediyorum, bir yandan da Bangle ayrıldıktan sonra BMW&#8217;de gerçekten şok edici yenilikte tasarımların bundan böyle ancak konsept araçlarda görülebileceğini düşünüp üzülüyorum.</p>
<p>BMW 5 serisinin yakından incelendiğinde en etkileyici tarafı kesinlikle kabin içi. Mercedes&#8217;in başarılı E serisini bu alanda geçmeyi başarmış olabilir bu jenerasyonuyla BMW. Yine de hakkında daha fazla yazacak bir şey bulamadığım bir otomobil oldu. Jaguar XF, eskimeye başlayan tasarımına katlanabilirseniz bu segmentin en kışkırtıcı aracı galiba.</p>

<p>Aston Martin Cygnet&#8217;i resmen üretme kararı aldı. Cenevre&#8217;de sergilenen model de üretim modeliydi. Cygnet&#8217;in özelliklerine geçmeden önce bir detayı hemen belirteyim, bu aracı satın alabilmenin ön koşulu, mevcutta bir Aston Martin spor otomobili sahibi olmak.</p>

<p>Cygnet, Toyota iQ üzerinden detaylı bir işçilikle geçilerek yaratılmış bir otomobil. Araçta diğer Aston Martin modellerinde olduğu gibi el dikişi deri malzemeler, Alcantara ve alüminyum materyalleri kullanılmış. Tabi bunca detayın önemli bir kısmı da aracın yüzünün Aston Martin&#8217;in imzası olan ızgara ve armayla bezenmesini de içeriyor. Böylece şehir içinde kullandığınız minik otomobilinizle bile aslında milyoner olduğunuzu dışa vurabiliyorsunuz.</p>
